Truckeee Meadows Community College is an affordable alternative to college and many students begin their academic program at TMCC before joining the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) or the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). Transfer agreements with UNR and UNLV facilitate transfer to Nevada public universities after the completion of the first two years of training. After earning 24 credits at TMCC, students can also move on to other U.S. universities in the U.S. TMCC develops ongoing partnerships with universities in the U.S. – you can start at TMCC and go anywhere. Typically, only credits that apply to the student`s degree or certificate program are transferred to the student`s WNC dataset. Please contact an academic advisor in your main subject to ensure that the courses apply to your degree, as well as to get help in choosing the transfer path that is appropriate for you. Students may request a review of a transfer credit assessment by the NSHE Articulation Coordinating Committee if they are not satisfied with the WNC`s final decision by submitting a Nevada credit transfer system for verification.
If such information is not available and/or the student does not agree with the second assessment, he/she may submit a transfer credit assessment appeal. The Clerk will first consider the complaint. If the reason why a course has not been transferred as desired is the result of a course that does not comply with the guidelines, such as.B. compliance with the minimum number of credits required for a requirement, the course was development-based, the course was not concluded in a regionally accredited institution, etc. The Registrar will make a final decision on the portability of the course. Retrocession can entail a certain cost. CSN does not charge you a fee for the retrocession process. Your transfer institution may charge you a fee for the requirement of a transcript. You may also need to take additional courses to complete your associated Degree plan. For students who plan to continue their training at a four-year university, a large number of services available make the transition from WNC to a four-year university as simple and efficient as possible. University catalogs of most U.S. colleges are available.
These services are intended to be operated by students preparing for transfer. Once you are ready for transmission, early use is recommended.
